Hey my loves ✨
It’s been quiet on my blog for quite a while, but that’s about to change!
A complete website redesign is also on my to-do list, but that will happen step by step. Somehow, I always have way too much to do, and the day just doesn’t have enough hours. 🙈
As some of you may have already seen on Instagram, I spent Christmas and New Year's in Namibia again this year. I was there for almost six weeks, letting my soul unwind and soaking up the sun. For the past four years, I’ve been spending the winter months in Namibia – and every time, it’s an absolute highlight for me, especially at the end of the year!
Of course, working out is an essential part of my life, no matter where I am. So, just like every year, I took my Flying Pole with me to keep training my technique. My training routine included lots of stretching, Flying Pole sessions, handstand practice, and kettlebell workouts. I didn’t do any intense 180-bpm cardio or HIIT workouts, but I took my time to train with precision and proper technique. Most days, I trained for about 2-3 hours. And the result? I achieved more on the Flying Pole than ever before! On top of that, I enjoyed good food, plenty of sleep, and loads of fresh air and nature.
But then came my return to Germany – I was full of motivation, ready to give my all… but my body had other plans. Suddenly, I struggled with moves that had been effortless before Namibia: Deadlift? A struggle. Phoenix? A disaster. You can imagine how frustrating that was for me. 🙈
However, I knew this was just an adjustment phase. The difference between a silicone Flying Pole and a regular chrome pole is huge, and my body needed time to readjust to the new physical conditions. Now, after a few days, I can feel things slowly improving. I’m getting back into my training, but of course, there are still some doubts – especially since my next competition is in just two months. But I won’t let that get me down! The road back to routine is tough, but I love the challenge and am ready to push forward.
I’ll keep you all updated – and if you’ve ever taken a longer break from training, let me know how you got back into it! 😎
